It started with a simple idea. Anurag Kashyap, Sudhir Mishra and Chakri Toleti will choose 12 directors from across India to make 10 minute short films. Each film will be part of a larger story. Not a collection of short stories but an integral part of a larger story.

With banned films, censored scenes, and finally a string of hits, he is certainly the ‘been there, done that’ guy of Bollywood today. And as he has been through all this, he has followed nothing but his dreams. Anurag turns 40 this September.

Nitin Bhardwaj from Ghaziabad took a chance and sent just one film as his showreel for this project. And as it was destined, Nitin received the news of his selection when he was sitting in cafe doing a concept for one of his clients. He shut his production house temporarily so that he could concentrate on the project full throttle. He faced the challenge of working with a shoestring budget but eventually overcame it.

Imagine a dream of a film student to write a script for a major feature film coming true! This is pretty much the story of Njio Jonson who started off in the travel industry before quitting his job to pursue his passion for film-making and enrolling for a film-making course.

For a man whose first film shoot begun with a ruckus in a village, films are the very life and passion of writer-director Jagannathan. A former journalist who worked for news channels like TV 18 and Zee, he soon shifted his interest from journalism to film-making and enrolled at the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata. After assisting in a couple of films, he turned towards independent film-making.

From producing experimental films on shoe string budgets to facing arrest threats on the first day of this film’s shoot due to misunderstandings, Kabir Singh Chowdhry is a prolific artist and a film director who experimented with film-making since college.

nitye sood

A fresh graduate from a mechanical engineering college, Nitye Sood spent four years of his collegiate life experimenting with film-making. The film bug bit him since high school days when he started experimenting with photography.

varun chowdhury

Small town director and editor, Varun Chowdhury started his film career with ad and short films before working as a production assistant for numerous directors in the US. His journey with the camera has seen various ups and downs before being a part of this project.

anurag gowshami

Anurag is a Film Direction graduate (2012) from the Film & Television Institute of India, Pune. Disillusioned with his corporate career as an analyst, he inched towards filmmaking and found his true calling there. He wrote short films, assisted and acted in plays while working a day-job and jumped the ship to join FTII in 2006.

rohin

After completing his graduation from Loyola college in visual communication and subsequently his post-graduate diploma in film direction, V.Rohin worked as an assistant director for Tamil as well as Telegu feature films.

himanshu tyagi

After his engineering, Himanshu tried to get into FTII, but never had any luck. Thereafter, he made it to the Whistling Woods International, but had to drop out because of high fee structure. In 2009, he went to Pune to assist in a few short films.

asmit pathare

Apart from bagging the Audience Award at the Wassup Andheri Humaramovie Film festival, this 28 year old consummate writer, director and actor assisted director, Rajat Kapoor with his various theatrical endeavors. He also worked as an Assistant Director for a non-fiction show aired on the news channel, Sahara Samay.
